Tips for using the fireextinguisher “pull, aim, squeeze, and sweep” (PASS)

1. Pull (the pin): after lifting upthe fire extinguisher, pull the safety pin “twist and pull”.

2. Aim (at source of the fire):hold the nozzle and aim at the base of the fire.

3. Squeeze (the handle): squeezethe handle (all the way) and spray at the source of the fire.

4. Sweep (at the base of the fireside-to-side): after spraying from side-to-side, continue to monitor the fireand make sure the fire is extinguished.
